Living Room Re-do

Helped a client with her living room.

She wasn't crazy about her room set up
and asked for my suggestions.

Take a look...

THE BEFORE:

(Sorry about the fuzzy photos...
I blame operator error)

As you can see, furniture pieces were squared off
and pushed up against surrounding walls.

Now take a look at

THE AFTER:

Furniture was pulled off walls, space was opened up
and accessories were streamlined.

We used only items that were already in the house.

Let me know your thoughts.

As always, thanks for visiting.

xJavierx's Photostream on Flickr

Stumbled upon some great photos on Flickr

xJavierx

Used a few before, but now
I'm thinking this guy might need his own blog post

What do you think?

Today's topic:

Gray

Love this open living room

Gray kitchen cabs...bold

Gray furnishings, yellow/gold accents

Hip striped nook with a double table...love the double table.

Gray Living room

Gotta love a little symmetry

Turquoise and blue

blue accents, neutral gray larger pieces...so calming

Light and airy, cool and crisp

Well? What did you think?
As always, thanks for visiting...

Hayvenhurst Estate in California

I think I have found the perfect decor.
I love the color palette. The furnishings are casual, crisp and chic.
This house looks family friendly, perfect for entertaining
and wonderfully warm yet extremely sophisticated.

I think if there was a decor I'd prefer and not change a thing...this is it!

Stumbled upon this website listing homes to be shot in a movie!
You can list your own home to be part of a movie set.
Interesting concept.

Regardless, this is my ideal eye-candy of a house, okay,
maybe on a smaller scale,
but still deliciously decorated.

Double staircase grand entry
Love the dark, dark floors...timeless!

The expansive entrance shows off those high ceilings.
Such simplicity.

Yes, this is the "eat-in" kitchen.
Seating for 12!
Big family or open doors for guests.

Rustic antique table...so inviting.
Opens up to outdoor spaces as well as access to the kitchen.

I love the two marble islands.
And do you see those amazing side by side glass front refrigerators?
I've always admired that fridge...let alone two!

Wolf range, stainless farm sink...love it.

Family room: you know I have a thing for crispy white slipcovers.
Perfection!

Office/Library

Living room: still inviting but a bit more formal.
Cooler color on the walls, chrome accents...
still consistent with the white upholstery

Again, mega seating. Perfect for entertaining.
Notice most rooms are anchored by that timeless sisal area rug.

Upstairs landing
Picture gallery amidst the white paneled hall

Love the extra shelving and would you look at that coffered ceiling.

Master Bed
You know how I feel about zebra rugs
Again, keeping with the white theme...simple bedding.

I love all the black accents not only in the Master bath,
but through out the house.
I can't help but notice the open shelving below each sink
for additional towel storage

Finally the back yard:
Plenty of lounge areas for relaxing, elegant poolside table
and even an overlook bistro set.

So what do you think?
IS this for you? Would love comments.

As always, thanks for visiting...

Stylist in Training...

My daughter called me into her room.
"Look at my rooms, Mom!" she says.

This is when I realized I had a little stylist on my hands.
Check out her mini room "looks"

*Pay mind to the outfits that coordinate with the decor.
Love my girl.

You know I LOVE green

This is the Master Bedroom

The "pillows" are an old package tie from Anthropologie

This is the Nursery
(again, notice the blue and yellow color theme...love it!)

Here we have the little girl's room

Love the set up...guitar and shades.
Rock star in the making!

Hello doggie.
The Teen Room

Love the bags hanging up ready for the next outfit change.

Rockin' to some tunes...

More bags...

Outfit for tomorrow...

"Here is my shoe!"

Love the book ends.

So that is the end of the tour. Hope you enjoyed as much as I did.

Okay, slightly corny but I love this stuff.
I will save these shots and pull them out as she decorates for her first place.
(She may not be thrilled that I posted this for all to see...
after a bit of convincing, she obliged)

As always thanks for visiting.
